Registering a .museum name is easy. Just follow the process step-by-step in order to secure
and register your .museum identity:

 |
Apply for a Community-ID.
In order to register a name in .museum, you must have a Community-ID. This identifies you
as a member of the museum community when dealing with the registrars and is assigned to eligible
applicants by MuseDoma. If you do not have a Community-ID, submit an application. If you
previously applied for .museum names by some other means, the current application forms
will allow you to pick up where you left off.

Confirmation by e-mail.
You will be sent immediate confirmation of the receipt of your application. When it has been
processed, you will receive your Community-ID together with a password to prevent its
unauthorized use. You will also be notified about the names that have been reserved for you to
register.

 |
Choose a Registrar.
Review the list of authorized .museum registrars. You may select freely among them but
should note that they provide service in different languages and may have varying terms of
service, including different costs. You should also note that only the listed registrars are
able to add names to .museum.

Follow your Registrar's instructions.
You will need to tell your registrar your Community-ID and password as well as the names that
you wish to register. If MuseDoma notified you that those names were reserved for you, the
remaining procedure will largely be automatic. You may request additional names at any time
either through your registrar or by e-mail to MuseDoma at
registration@nic.museum.
Your registrar will ask for additional information needed to provide you with on-going service.
Once registered, your domain name(s) will be ready for use.
